Josephina 'Fien'

Host and tour guide (NL/EN)

Why did you come to Copenhagen? And what kept you here?

Love brought me here and the city kept me

What are your favourite places in town?

As a small town Dutchie I miss the horizon sometimes due to the city blocking the view therefore I love the view over the lakes. The parks are also great to just wander around in and they are always around the corner.

What surprised you most when you came to Denmark?

3 things really surprised me

1- How man would walk behind a baby stroller while the woman would walk beside it.

2- That pedestrians actually wait for red light...

3- The way traffic lights are set up and everyone gets green on the same time on the same side

Any tips for people coming to Copenhagen:

Don't forget to come back. There is so much to see and experience that you can't see it in one weekend

What do you do besides working for Tropical Bikes?

I make people smile through out the whole year. In the Summer I'm a tour guide for Tropical Bikes, in the Winter I'm an ice hockey trainer for children in the age between 3-9. Between all that I run my own business as balloon artist/decorator. Delivering balloons for joyful moments.

How difficult is the Danish language?

If you read it, it looks a lot like Dutch....yep until you hear it or try to speak it. A little like Gorinchem but pronouncing Gorkum V=W. HV=W. D=L G=K Å=O Ø=EU Æ=è

Lots of people speak English and that makes it tough to learn the language.
